BEFORE THE CEREMONY

Contact me either by phone 0402 228 446 or email celebrant@leannerose.net and I will confirm my availability for the date of your wedding. I will also answer any questions you have regarding the ceremony and your legal requirements and arrange a time for our first meeting as your marriage celebrant try and book your celebrant early.

FIRST MEETING

I will fill out a Notice of Intended Marriage form (which can be downloaded from the Australian Government Attorney General's website on the right hand side under downloads) with you and lodge this on your behalf. This form must be lodged with me 1 month prior to the wedding ceremony or within eighteen months of the wedding ceremony.

We will discuss your ideas for your wedding ceremony including readings, vows and poems. You can either design your own vows or I can give you many samples to take away with you. Then we can work together to design your ceremony.

My fee includes the preparation and lodgement of all required legal paperwork, Marriage Ceremony, Marriage Certificate and travelling costs within Sydney on the day of the ceremony, as many emails or phone calls as required and unlimited support as your celebrant.

My fees are $550.00 and this fee includes everything. A non refundable deposit is required to be paid at this first meeting to secure the date and time of your wedding and the balance of monies are to be paid 2 weeks prior to the ceremony date. if your wedding is Monday - Thursday please ask me about my special rates for these days or if you are planning a very small wedding or eloping just ask me for my special rate.

Travelling costs outside of Sydney, parking and tolls will be negotiated, I do not charge any extra for Central Coast weddings.

A non refundable deposit is payable at this first meeting ($200.00).

WHAT TO BRING TO OUR FIRST MEETING

The bride and groom will need to bring: An original birth certificate if born in Australia or an original birth certificate or overseas passport if born overseas. If the birth certificate is not in English, this must be accompanied by a certified translation. If either the bride or groom is divorced they will need to bring their Divorce Decree Absolute papers. If either the bride or groom is widowed they will need to bring the Death Certificate of their previous spouse.

If you do not have your birth certificate it is easily obtained from the Births, Deaths and Marriage website if you are born in Australia you must produce your birth certificate.

SECOND MEETING

In some cases a second meeting is arranged approximately 1 week prior to the ceremony to sign any final legal documents. This meeting is also set aside for the wedding rehearsal if one is required. The balance of my fee is payable at this meeting or done via internet banking.

DAY OF THE CEREMONY

  • I will arrive on time approximately 30-45 minutes prior to the ceremony time.
  • I will be appropriately dressed for the occasion.
  • You will need two witnesses over the age of 18 for the marriage to take place.
  • Most ceremonies will last 20 to 30 minutes, depending on the content of readings and/or poems chosen by the bride and groom.
  • Provide you with a Marriage Certificate on the day.
  • Provide you with a copy of your ceremony.
  • If your ceremony is being conducted in a location that would be affected by rain or other inclement weather, you will need to consider/provide an alternate venue as a backup.

AFTER THE CEREMONY DAY

  • I will lodge your documents with Births, Deaths and Marriages and take full responsibility for all aspects of this process.
  • Email you your Marriage Registration number.
  • If you have filled out a Marriage Certificate form I will also send this in and the certificate will come directly back to you from Births, Deaths and Marriages.

  • Table, for signing of the marriage register
  • Cover for the table
  • PA system
  • Cordless microphone for couples to use if required
  • Portable CD player
  • PA system also takes an ipod/MP3 player.
