LeanneChoosing your celebrant
Years ago there was very little choice when it came to civil marriage celebrants, it was either the solemn old guy... or the solemn old guy. Thankfully those days are long gone and marriage celebrants are as individual as the couples they marry.
Choosing your Marriage Celebrant is a very personal thing: you want someone who will be organised, helpful and supportive, but above all else, you want to like the person you have chosen to marry you. Your Marriage Celebrant should in some way reflect you as a couple. If at all possible try not to choose your marriage celebrant on price alone.
If your ceremony is on a Monday - Thursday or even on a Friday depending on the venue, please check my page on how to save! .
Location! Location! Location!
Going with a marriage celebrant for your wedding opens up a huge smorgasbord of stunning locations in and around Sydney. It's the reason why so many overseas visitors decide to get married here. So why not take advantage of this beautiful city and its surrounds and get married in your favourite place. Check out my links to some of Sydney's best locations for weddings.
Religious differences
Not all couples have the same religious and cultural backgrounds. In these circumstances couples often call on a Marriage Celebrant to provide a neutral alternative.
Legal Requirements
Satisfying legal requirements is perhaps the most unromantic aspect of getting married. It's the last thing you want to think about. A good marriage celebrant is a bit like having your own personal assistant. They fill out the forms and lodge them with the Registry of Births Deaths and Marriages.
All you need to do is provide an original Birth Certificate for your marriage celebrant to sight (or a passport if you are an overseas visitor) and voila! The paperwork is done.

A Red, Red Rose A Red Red Rose O, my luve is like a red, red rose, That's newly sprung in June. O, my luve is like the melodie, That's sweetly play'd in tune. As fair art thou, my bonie lass, So deep in luve am I, And I will luve thee still, my dear, Till a' the seas gang dry. Till a' the seas gang dry, my dear, And the rocks melt wi' the sun! And I will luve thee still, my dear, While the sands o' life shall run. And fare thee weel, my only luve, And fare thee weel a while! And I will come again, my luve, Tho' it were ten thousand mile!
